UK food manufacturer Kestrel Foods has announced the acquisition of savoury snack brand Indie Bay Snacks from peer Nurture Brands for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2016 by Dafna Bonas, Indie Bay Snacks sells low-calorie, low-fat pretzel snacks, including “pretzel thins”, through grocery, travel, and direct-to-consumer channels.
Commenting on the deal, Nurture Brands managing director Adam Draper said: “As Nurture Brands consolidates its resources around Rebel Kitchen, EMILY and Jax Coco, I am happy to see Indie Bay go forward and become an important part of the Kestrel Foods portfolio”.
Kestrel Foods founder and CEO Michael Hall MBE added: “The acquisition of Indie Bay is aligned to our ambition of creating a fast-paced and innovative snacking business. We believe Indie Bay offers consumers and customers something different in our portfolio, and we see great potential for growth through our strong brand, innovation and go to market capability”.
The brand will join Kestrel Food’s existing portfolio, which includes Forest Feast, ACTI-SNACK, and Just Live a Little.
