UK: Children’s soft drinks brand incorporates new promotion with Angry Birds

Europe, Non-Alcoholic Drinks

Britvic soft drinks is to introduce a new on-pack promotion for its Robinsons Fruit Shoot drink in partnership with video game phenomenon Angry Birds.

In a deal agreed with Rovio Entertainment, creator of Angry Birds, the new promotion offers consumers the opportunity to play an exclusive adventure puzzle game called Angry Bird Skills. The deal is a first in the UK between Angry Birds and a beverage brand, Britvic claims.

“We’re excited to be the first UK beverage brand to partner with Angry Birds as we know that this activity will really engage our target audience for Fruit Shoot Low Sugar and Hydro. The promotion is part of our on-going ‘Get Your Skills On’ campaign, which looks to motivate kids to try and learn new skills in a fun and interactive way,” said Jonathan Gatward, GB marketing director at Britvic.

The promotion will be available on packs of Fruit Shoot Low Sugar as well as Fruit Shoot Hydro multi packs and single bottles. A unique promotional code on the pack will grant access to the new “online adventure”.
