Gama spoke to Joanne Cook, Managing Director, SIAL Middle East, ahead of the event’s 2018 edition.
What are your expectations for this edition of SIAL Middle East?
Over the years since its launch, SIAL Middle East has registered double-digit growth. 2018 will be no exception. We are expecting more than 1,000 exhibitors, 20,000 visitors and 500 fully hosted VIP buyers. There are some new exhibitor sectors that are a key focus for 2018 including seafood, foodservice equipment and food truck fabricators / suppliers. In addition to that, we are also launching a “date auction” where buyers will be able to bid on dates grown in the UAE and essentially purchase them at the best possible prices.
We are also excited to welcome some new country pavilions to the event including Bahrain and Tunisia, while a number of international pavilions are returning once again, including Brazil, Morocco and Italy to name a few.
