Consumer goods giant Unilever has announced an investment of R$127 million ($32.8 million) to expand its facility in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
According to an article in O Tempo, construction works are already in progress and operations are expected to start between April and May 2019.
Unilever’s Pouso Alegre site currently produces stocks and soups for the Arisco and Knorr brands and soy-based drinks for the AdeS brand, as well as seasoning powders. As a result of the expansion, the facility will be able to produce a wider range of products including Hellmann’s mayonnaise, salad dressings, mustard, ketchup, seasoning pastes and Carte D’Or desserts.
The expansion will reportedly allow Unilever to increase revenue by R$290 million ($75 million) in 2019 and R$1 billion ($259 million) in 2020.
