What should manufacturers do to be successful in the current economic climate?
To succeed in this changing context, the key is to find a unique position where no one can beat you without losing sight of your culture and values as a company. You need to be focused on innovation, which helps companies such as Mahou San Miguel continue focusing on value. In fact, in a world dominated by “big brewers”, we are the leading privately owned brewer company worldwide (if we rank companies by international sales outside of the domestic market). That makes us different and pretty unique.
Caution, flexibility and patience are necessary strategic pillars in the current economic environment. We have always been very cautious when choosing our investments but always attentive to market movements and new opportunities in terms of growing both inside and outside of Spain.
You need to be ready to navigate an often volatile world with a strong contingency plans and a positive attitude!
