Suntory Beverage & Food has announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Kellogg for the launch of a new on-the-go breakfast product in Japan – Kellogg’s Drinkable Breakfast Fruit Granola.
Kellogg’s Drinkable Breakfast Fruit Granola is said to have been developed independently by Suntory, leveraging its flavour-development technology and Kellogg’s extensive experience in nutritional design.
Promoted as “suitable for the busy 20-30 year olds who are most likely to skip breakfast”, the product claims to provide a “quick and sustained delivery of energy, with a balance of sugars, as well as proteins and other nutrients”.
Kellogg’s Drinkable Breakfast Fruit Granola will go on sale from 7th April in convenience stores in Tokyo and Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Shizuoka, Yamanashi, Nagano, and Niigata prefectures.
The new breakfast alternative, described as a blend of fruit jelly and four grains and six fruits in a banana milk base, will be available in 200g cup at an RRP of ¥180 ($1.50).
