What should manufacturers do to be successful in the current economic climate?

Balance your value proposition in your portfolio, adapt your offering and your pricing to the needs of different channels, and bring distinctive and relevant innovation to the market, with appropriate pricing, so as to have a win/win proposition for both customers and consumers. Focusing on fully exploiting innovation is crucial as well: companies tend to ‘forget’ about new products soon after launch, moving immediately to the next thing, rather than maximizing the effort spent on earlier innovation.
