Coca-Cola is extending its bottled water line in Japan with the launch of a Tomato flavour under the I Lohas brand.
According to the company, the natural water contains tomato extract, made with “carefully selected” tomatoes from Kumamoto prefecture.
The water has “fruity sweetness and a light aftertaste” for those who do not like tomato juice. It also contains 40mg of sodium per 100ml and is therefore advertised as “suitable for summer, to protect yourself against heat stroke”. The label bears an image of “fresh tomatoes” and is designed to communicate a sense that the product is “fun, playful and cool”.
The latest additon to the I Lohas brand follows previous flavours such as orange and apple, as well as, most recently, an aloe vera variety.
I Lohas Tomato is offered in a 550ml plastic bottle for an RRP of 130 JPY ($1.09) and will hit shelves in Japan from the 4th of May.
