PepsiCo, the global snacks and soft drinks giant, is expanding its breakfast foods portfolio in India with the launch of Quaker Nutri Food.
The new launches are described as familiar breakfast foods called Dosa (a type of pancake), Upma (a porridge made from semolina and rice flour) and Khichdi (a rice and lentil dish), said to contain “40% more oats and vegetables” to make them healthier options.
“The lifestyle of millennials today is increasingly rushed and they are looking at nutrition solutions in the morning because that’s the only time of the day that they have control over,” commented Deepika Warrier, vice president of PepsiCo’s nutrition category for the India region.
PepsiCo added that it planned to launch further products under the Quaker Nutri Food brand by the end of the year.
