Unilever has expanded its offering under the Continental brand in Australia, with a range of “gourmet” ready meals.
The dried ready meal range is claimed to include ingredients picked “when they’re in season, simply dried and then skilfully prepared by local Continental chefs”.
“Drying is one of the oldest methods of food preservation,” said Julie Baylis, Head Chef at Continental. “It locks in the flavour and nutrients so foods can be enjoyed all year round. All you need to do is ignite the flavour by adding heat and water, then let your creativity take over”.
The new Continental Gourmet Pasta range includes 6 varieties: Creamy Chicken Pesto & Spring Onion; Aged Cheddar, Parmesan & Chive; Creamy Pumpkin, Sage & Bacon; Creamy Spinach, Parmesan & Bacon; Creamy Tomato, Parmesan & Basil; and Primavera with Vine Ripened Tomato. The rice range includes Thai Coconut & Lemon Grass Rice and Teriyaki & Garlic, as well as risotto in the varieties Roast Chicken & Leek and Mushroom & Chive.
The new range is available across Australia for an RRP of A$2.59 ($2.02).
