Nurtrinor, a Canada based agri-food cooperative, has acquired a majority stake in cheese specialist Fromagerie Champetre, company based in Repentigny in Canada.
The acquisition, according to a company statement, is part of a three-year investment plan to strengthening Nutrinor’s position in the agri-food sector, enabling the cooperative to position itself on the dairy processing market outside the region. With the acquisition, Nutrinor will be able to transform more than 52 million litres of milk annually.
“It’s a key step for Nutrinor. We firmly believe that Fromagerie Champetre has a strong potential for growth that will help propel us beyond our primary market”, commented Yves Girard, general manager of Nutrinor. “Fromagerie Champetre offers an exceptional line of products that stand out for their quality and authenticity. Such a level of care is squarely in line with our vision of growth, and that’s what clinched it for us”.
It is reported the transaction is in partnership with the Quebec-based investment fund Capital Croissance PME.
