Japanese cigarette manufacturing company Japan Tobacco International has opened a new plant in Lodz, Poland, with an estimated investing amount of $200 million.
According to Handel Extra, the new factory will employ up to 400 people, bringing Japan Tobacco International’s total workforce in Poland to 1,500.
The new 70,000 sq m “technologically advanced manufacturing site” will operate to produce tobacco for more than 30 billion cigarettes per year, including cigars and pipe tobacco, with more than 30 processing lines.
This is Japan Tobacco’s latest investment in Poland, a market in which the firm has been present for over 10 years.
