Brazil: Pao de Acucar launches app with customized deals

Brazilian retailer Pao de Acucar, part of the global Casino chain, has introduced an app called Meu Desconto (‘My Discount’).

The new app is claimed to feature exclusive deals for customers who are members of the retailer’s loyalty programs Pao de Acucar Mais and Clube Extra. According to information, Meu Desconto will feature customized deals for each customer, taking into consideration the products that they usually buy.

With the launch, the company aims to increase its ‘share of wallet’, that is the amount that the customer spends in the retailer’s stores compared to the total amount spent in all supermarket purchases.

To obtain their discounts, consumers enrolled in loyalty programs need to download the Clube Extra or Pao de Acucar Mais applications. For customers already enrolled in these schemes, offers will be divided between customized deals (based on history and shopping habits) and those suggested by the application.

After an offer is selected it needs to be activated, which will automatically happen the next time the customer is atthe till of any store or makes a purchase on the online shop.

The app will feature a minimum of 30 offers every two weeks and the minimum discount will be 15%.
