Maheso, the frozen food manufacturer, is investing €40 million ($44 million) in a new production facility in Garray, Soria, Spain.
Located in the Parque Empresarial del Medio Ambiente (PEMA), the 14,000 sq m plant is designed to double the company’s manufacturing capacity across two distinct phases. The first stage, operational in May, features a production line dedicated to vegetable snacks, cheeses and churros, yielding an initial capacity of 2,500 tonnes annually. A second phase in 2027 will introduce a line for pre-cooked meat products, expanding total capacity to 5,000 tonnes.
The factory integrates advanced production technology and complies with BREEAM sustainable construction criteria. The project forms part of Maheso’s Strategic Plan 2030, which outlines €75 million ($82.5 million) in industrial investments to exceed €300 million ($330 million) in turnover by 2030, up from €159 million ($174.9 million) recorded in 2024.
Maheso CEO David Aldea commented: “This plant represents a new stage for Maheso and this capsule symbolises the enthusiasm, effort and vision with which we are building the future of the company”.
