Campbell’s Soup, the food and beverage company, has completed an 88,000 sq ft expansion to its plant in Maxton (NC). The project, which began in 2025, also features an additional 28,000 sq ft of utility mezzanine space.
The facility upgrades include the addition of two aseptic filling and packaging lines with state-of-the-art technology, designed to increase production capacity by 20% and enhance efficiency. The investment further introduces new quality labs, expanded ingredient storage, new office space, an employee welfare area and a training facility and conference centre. Sustainability is also embedded throughout the facility with enhancements to save on energy costs.
According to the company, the expansion is intended to meet strong and sustained demand for its broth and soup portfolio – which includes the Campbell’s, Pacific Foods and Swanson brands – driven by trends such as at-home cooking, value and increased interest in health and wellness.
The Maxton site has been an important part of the company’s network since 1979. The project will create approximately 100 new jobs.
