USA: JM Smucker opens new Uncrustables manufacturing facility

JM Smucker, the diversified US food business has expanded production capacity for the Uncrustables brand with the opening of a new 900,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in McCalla (AL).

Uncrustables is the company’s brand of sealed crustless sandwiches, available with fillings such as Strawberry, Grape, Chocolate Hazelnut, Raspberry and Honey.

Commenting on the expansion, JM Smucker CEO Mark Smucker said: “The opening of our new facility in McCalla furthers our commitment to invest in our strategy to build leading brands in attractive categories. We have grown Uncrustables from a $12 million brand to one delivering approximately $800 million in annual net sales last fiscal year”.

“With the new facility now open, we are well positioned to realize our goal of $1 billion in annual net sales by then of fiscal year 2026”, he added.
