US discount retail chain Family Dollar has announced that it is adding 400 new food items to its product range.
The new initiative also sees the retailer team up with celebrity chef Pat Neely to promote the store’s products, and will include a recipe challenge to make a meal for four for just $15.00, as well as a special joint programme with Feeding America aimed at giving children a healthy start to the day.
Alongside the new product rollout, Family Dollar is also promising to lower prices on 1,000 products.

It’s important for us to constantly evaluate our assortment, making sure that we have the products and National Brands that are relevant to her and her family, always at a great everyday value,” said Jason Reiser, Family Dollar Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer. “I am excited to add these new food items to our already robust assortment, and I am confident that our customers will be impressed by the expanded selection we have to offer.”
Family Dollar is the USA’s second biggest ‘dollar store’ behind Dollar General Corp, with 8,100 stores across 45 states in the country.
