FMCG giant Danone has announced plans to invest up to $65 million over the next two years to create a new bottle production line at its existing facility in Jacksonville, Florida, according to a Food Manufacturing Report.
The investment aims to increase production of coffee and coffee creamer products under brands such as International Delight and SToK to meet consumer demand.
The new production line is also intended to contribute to the company’s sustainability goal by decreasing water consumption and carbon emissions, and boosting packaging circularity.
Shane Grant, Danone group deputy CEO and CEO Americas, said: “We are delighted to announce this investment in our North American business, which will allow us to capitalize on consumer demand in key beverage categories including coffee creamers, plant-based creamers, and ready-to-drink coffee, while also supporting our long-term growth agenda”.
Danone COO Mike Sloboda added: “This investment will allow us to better serve our customers and operate our business in an even more efficient and sustainable way”.
The investment is set to create 40 full-time jobs.
