Kopparberg is expanding its Swedish cider range with the launch of a new ‘cider sorbet’ that is sold in a pouch and designed to be served frozen.
Promoted as the “first frozen cider” and being launched in the UK in time for the summer months, Kopparberg Frozen Fruit Cider follows the launch of similar pouch products in the FABs category.
According to an article in The Drinks Report, the cider is designed to be frozen for eight hours before being squeezed into a glass and consumed with a spoon or wide straw.
Jodie Alliss, brand manager at Kopparberg, commented: “The demand for a frozen variation of Kopparberg was outstanding so we’re thrilled to be able to launch the new product for summer 2015. Offering the ultimate summer refreshment and resonating with a slightly older audience, Kopparberg Frozen Fruit Cider takes the brand’s offering to the next level. We’ll be supporting the launch with PR and social media from spring into summer.”
Available from May, Kopparberg Frozen Fruit Cider comes in a choice of Strawberry & Lime and Elderflower & Lime flavours. The 250ml metallic pouches will have an RRP of £2.99 ($4.39).
