Dr Schar UK, marketer of multinational gluten-free brand DS, is set to launch 15 new products in 2014 in order to capitalise on growth in the sector.
The last five years has seen a major advancements in the gluten free sector with growth reaching double figures, according to reports. DS Gluten Free has increased is listings year-on-year by 12% , and has now secured expansion into Tesco Express, Sainsbury’s Local and Morrison’s Local, according to Dr Schar.
“2013 has been a positive year for the retail business, both in terms of product launches and enhancing our retail range,” said Bob Trice, managing director of Dr Schar. “Gluten free foods are commanding more shelf space and we are seeing an increasing number of convenience stores now stocking gluten free food”.
He continued: “Next year’s business focus centres on expanding the DS-gluten free presence in the everyday and speciality bread category”.
