Global dairy company Arla has announced a licensing agreement with UK firm Yeo Valley Dairies, a subsidiary of the Yeo Valley Group, which will give Arla the right to use the Yeo Valley brand for milk, butter, spreads and cheese products.
Yeo Valley is the UK’s largest organic brand and the largest family-owned dairy business, with a range of products that includes yoghurt, milk, butter, cream, ice cream and compote.
Commenting on the deal, Arla Foods managing director Tomas Pietrangeli said: “The potential for future investment in range through this licensing agreement with Yeo Valley provides a significant opportunity to offer a greater choice to consumers at attractive prices. […] Through the license to use the Yeo Valley brand, we believe that we can further drive organic penetration of the milk market”.
The Yeo Valley yogurt, ice cream, cream and desserts business will continue to be run independently through Yeo Valley Group, Arla added.
