UAE: Berain to build $37 million bottling plant

Berain, a Saudi Arabia based mineral water firm, is partnering with developer ZonesCorp to construct a new bottling plant in the UAE, according to a report in Arabian Business.

The $37 million plant, located in the food industry zone of Al Ain Industrial City, is set to begin operations in the first quarter of 2020 and will produce around 70,000 bottles per hour. The facility will also create 424 jobs in manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sales, increasing to 807 within two years with the addition of new production lines in 2021, an company spokesperson added.

The news comes on the back of “remarkable growth” in the food manufacturing sector in Abu Dhabi over the past few years as a result of a booming domestic market and growing exports, ZonesCorp said in a statement.
