Nestle Skin Health, a healthcare division of FMCG multinational Nestle, has announced its intention to cease operations at its Egerkingen factory in Switzerland with the potential loss of 190 jobs.
The firm said low production volumes at the site had resulted in underutilization of assets and had thus placed additional pressure on manufacturing cost.
“Nestle Skin Health is continuously reviewing and adapting its portfolio, simplifying the organization, reviewing its business models, and assessing its geographic footprint”, the firm said in a statement.
At the retail level, Nestle Skin Health markets brands such as Cetaphil skin cleanser, Daylong sun protection and Proactiv acne treatment.
Nestle Skin Health said it intended to transfer manufacturing activities from the Egerkingen site to its other Nestle Skin Health manufacturing facilities across the world and move its Swiss sales office and the consumer business unit to other locations in Switzerland.
