Eagle Foods, a US manufacturer of snacks and canned milk products, has announced the expansion of its snack range with the acquisition of popcorn maker Popcorn Indiana.
Popcorn Indiana is a leading brand in the ready-to-eat popcorn category, with a broad range of “classic” varieties as well as a line of “indulgent” flavours under the Drizzlecorn name. Eagle Foods said Popcorn Indiana would strategically complement Eagle Foods’ GH Cretors brand and private label popcorn offerings, as well as increasing its scale and importance in a high growth category.
Commenting on the deal, Eagle Foods CEO Paul Smucker Wagstaff said: “Our acquisition of Popcorn, Indiana soundly demonstrates Eagle Foods’ commitment to expanding our product offerings to best meet the needs of our customers and consumers. The Popcorn, Indiana brand is a strategic addition to our existing selection of RTE popcorn. We are excited to continue to grow the Eagle Brands platform both organically and through strategic acquisitions”.
