Kruger Group, a manufacturer of branded and private label consumer products, has announced the acquisition of Switzerland-based Hermes Sussstoff, a maker of tabletop sweeteners, from pharmaceutical company Klosterfrau.
Through the acquisition, Kruger Group will add the Assugrin, Hermesetas and SteviaSweet brands. Assugrin is a popular brand in Switzerland, while Hermesetas leads the Northern European market and has a significant presence in Australia, the UK and Ireland, as well as other countries.
“With the acquisition of Hermes Süssstoff AG, the KRÜGER GROUP is strengthening its position as an international quality and innovation leader”, the company said in a statement, describing the acquisition as “a suitable addition to the KRÜGER GROUP’s Beverages division”.
The transaction is complete and business operations will remain unchanged. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
