Almarai, a leading Middle East food and drinks firm, has announced the opening of a new dairy facility in Saudi Arabia in partnership with GEA, a supplier group of food industry process technology.
Described as Saudi Arabia’s “largest and most modern dairy processing facility”, the new site is dedicated to milk and yoghurt production, with the capacity to process two million litres of milk a day.
According to GEA, the dairy facility, which is located in Al Kharj, is equipped with the “latest energy recovery technology” and “features end-to-end track and trace for ultimate quality control and a plant-wide uninterruptible power supply”.
Almarai’s dairy product range includes liquid, powdered, flavoured and evaporated milk, as well as laban and a line of yoghurts and desserts.
