Albert Heijn, the leading Dutch supermarket chain, has announced the launch of a new plant-based line comprising 200 products under the brand AH Terra.

The new line-up includes plant-based dairy alternatives for coffee, hummus and vegetable spreads, plant-based cheese and meat alternatives, non-dairy mayonnaise, margarine, snacks, and plant-based shrimp.

Commenting on the brand launch, Albert Heijn CEO Marit van Egmond said: “To drive the protein transition and to expand our range with plant-based proteins, we are offering our customers the opportunity to make more conscious and sustainable choices. The introduction of own-brand line AH Terra makes choosing plant-based food and drink even easier”.

The supermarket said the move was part of its efforts to ensure that 60% of the proteins it sells by 2030 are plant based.
