Galdisa, a maker of snack and peanut based products, has opened its first processing plant in the USA in Conroe Park North Industrial Park, in the north of Houston, Texas.

Based in Mexico, Galdisa markets a range of nuts and other seeds and beans under brands such as Gold Fritz and Golden.

According to sources, the plant was officially opened on the 6th July through the firm’s subsidiary Galdisa USA and will serve the US and Canadian market.

With an initial footprint of 46,500 sq ft, the facility is the firm’s first in the US and is said to incorporate the latest technologies in food processing and will initially employ 25 staff.

Besides specialising in peanut products, Galdisa also processes products such as pumpkin seeds, fava beans and chickpeas.
