New Zealand based dairy firm Fonterra has invested 20 million MYR ($5 million) in its Malaysian milk powder facility at its Susumas site in Kuala Lumpur.
According to Jose Miguel Porraz-Lando, managing director of Fonterra brands Malaysia and Singapore, the investment is part of Fonterra’s commitment to food safety and quality.
“We continually invest in our infrastructure to ensure we remain world-class in food safety, health & safety, and consumer nutrition”, commented Mr Porraz-Lando “Over the last six years, we’ve invested close to RM60 million ($14M) into upgrading our infrastructure as we are focused on continued improvements at both of our sites”.
Fonterra’s Susumas facility has the capacity to process and pack 30,000 metric tonnes of milk powder every year, supplying around 20,000 stores and exporting to 13 countries across the region. It manufactures goods under the Anchor, Anlene, Fernleaf and Anmun brands.
