Consumers in Japan are now able to purchase coffee in a metal bottle under the Starbucks brand.

The new product is manufactured by Suntory and is the company’s first canned coffee for the Japanese market.

Launched on the 25th August, the new launch is called Black Coffee Pike Place Roast and replicates a product that is also sold at Starbucks coffee stores in Japan. Claimed to contain no calorie, fat or sugars, it is described as a “special, premium blend coffee” with an aroma of cacao and roasted nuts with mild acidity and a mild, smooth aftertaste.

The 275g aluminum bottle-can coffee has an RRP of ¥200 ($1.67) and is only available from convenience stores. The product can be consumed hot or cold.
