Multinational tea specialist Ito En has announced the launch of a new yoghurt drink for the Japanese market containing the green tea powder matcha.
Due to hit shelves in Japan on 7th September 2015 , Ito En Matcha Yoghurt Drink is said to be made with Uji-type matcha and lactic acid bacteria for lower acidity. It is said to combine the mildly bitter flavour of matcha with the smooth, mild taste of yoghurt.
Made with “carefully selected ingredients”, the drink also contains the culture Enterococcus faecalis IC-1 that is claimed to remain alive even after reaching the stomach.
Ito En Matcha Yoghurt Drink is presented in a 200g plastic cup and has an RRP of ¥150 ($1.26).
