UK bakery manufacturer United Biscuits (UB) is planning to expand its biscuit product portfolio in India, according to a report in the Economic Times.
The company said that that the expansion would be centred on its core McVitie’s brand but did not elaborate further on the precise details of the expansion strategy. The newly announced plans comes after the acquisition of UB by the Turkish company Yildiz Holding, a move which will reportedly open up new opportunities in India for UB both in terms of products and investment.
Speaking to the Economic Times, UB India president Jayant Kapre commented: “”McVitie’s will remain our flagship brand in India. India is obviously very attractive, and we will think about expansion seriously”.
