The Indian arm of FMCG giant Nestle, as part of its Cereal Partners Worldwide venture with General Mills, has announced the launch of a new range of family breakfast cereals range under the brand Nesplus.
The firm had previously announced its intention to launch a line of cereals in the country.
The range is said to feature a combination of multigrain wheat, rice, oats and millet, and will be available in the varieties Kokos, Choco-Burst Fillows, Strawberry-Burst Fillows and Nutty Honey Granola. Nestle claims that all the blends have been specially created for the Indian palate as well as offering a healthy breakfast choice for Indian families. According to Nestle, among the features of the new range is that it will remain crunchy even in warm milk.
Commenting on the launch, Nestle India chairman and managing director Suresh Narayanan said: “Breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day and consuming the right breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day. NESPLUS is specifically designed for the Indian consumer and offers Vitamin D, Calcium, B-Vitamins, Iron, Folic Acid and Fibre, making it a great addition to the breakfast table”.
