German tea producer Messmer is tapping into the trend for Japanese green teas with the launch of a new matcha drink in a teabag format.

Described as a blend of green tea leaves and Japanese matcha, Messmer matcha tea is claimed to be a “unique tea [that] will give you a feeling of wellness and regeneration [for] moments of wellbeing of particular quality and intensity”. The product is said to especially target health-conscious younger women and has a recommended price of €1.69 ($1.87) for a box of 20 teabags.

Messmer is part of the OTG group and produces a wide range of tea products including black tea, white tea, green tea, herbal tea, fruit tea and rooibos.
