MANCHESTER – 22nd March 2016: The Gama Innovation Award – Product for March goes to a launch that gives in-vogue greek yoghurt a new savoury spin – Vigor Savoury Greek Yoghurt with Croutons.
Purportedly addressing the lack of “snacks with health appeal on the market”, Vigor Savoury Greek Yoghurt with Croutons is a new offering in Brazil from dairy firm Vigor oriented around the tastes of the Mediterranean, with the first variety featuring black olive yogurt and the second coming with a parsley and chive flavour. In each case, a serving of croutons is presented in a transparent domed lid, akin to the the more conventional combination that sees sweet yoghurt frequently packed together with a granola topping as an on-the-go snack.

Vigor’s idea enables it to draw more heavily on greek yoghurt’s Mediterranean associations, both in terms of its innovative savoury flavours and the perceived health benefits of the Mediterranean diet”.
