Fleury Michon, a meat products and ready meal manufacturer, is to purchase Paso Traiteur, a deli foods firm based in Olonne-sur-Mer, France, for an undisclosed sum.
Employing 140 staff and operating two facilities, Paso Traiteur is a leader in chilled appetizers, primarily producing a variety of filled bread called prefou that is a speciality of the Vendee region. The firm also manufactures bread-based dumplings and mini burger appetizers.
The acquisition is set to enable Fleury Michon to strengthen its presence in the growing appetizers segment. Commenting on the move, Fleury Michon CEO Régis Lebrun said: “This acquisition is a concrete illustration of our strategic plan being put into action”.
Paso Traiteur founders Tugdual Rabreau and Olivier Vallée described the sale as “a turning point in our adventure, and one that will allow us to have a leading place on our clients’ shelves”.
“Fleury Michon will add national and international reputation to our product lines”, they added.
