Danish beverage company Royal Unibrew has completed the acquisition of 100% of the French drinks maker Etablissements Geyer Freres (EGF) for 600 million DKK ($94 million).
EGF manufactures organic and local products and owns Lorina lemonade as well as the PureThe and InFreshhh brands. The firm employs 100 staff and operates production facilities in the north-eastern part of France, and has a significant presence in retail channels in France and the USA.
The deal is aimed at improving Royal Unibrew’s access to the French and US soft drinks markets, besides further strengthening the company’s export portfolio.
In a statement, Royal Unibrew said: “The acquisition is in line with Royal Unibrew’s strategy of being a focused and strong regional beverage provider holding market-leading positions within beverages in the Nordic and Baltic countries, supplemented by strong niche positions in selected markets and the international malt beverage markets”.
