Quimica Amparo, a Brazilian producer of household cleaning and hygiene products, has announced it is investing in expand its distribution centre and add production lines at its existing facility Pernambuco.
The expansion of the Pernambuco facility, which opened in 2023, is part of a further planned investment of R$220 million ($39.2 million) at the site by 2026, taking total spending on the facility to R$670 million ($119.5 million).
Jorge Beira, commercial vice president at Ype, said: “By December this year, our goal is to exceed 410 employees, including in operations, distribution and sales, in addition to the more than 150 indirect jobs generated by our regional suppliers. Investing in and developing an ecosystem of local suppliers is a priority, as we seek efficiency and sustainability”.
Ype’s manufacturing complex in Itapissuma produces liquid dish detergent, bleach and traditional and concentrated fabric softeners, serving six of the nine states in the Northeast region of Brazil.
