Brazil: Ype opens new manufacturing and distribution centre

Brazilian household care firm Ype has announced the opening of a new manufacturing plant and distribution centre located in Itapissuma, Pernambuco state, according to a report in Superhiper.

The new plant will be located on a 400,000 sq m site and include a manufacturing area, administrative buildings and a distribution centre.

Waldir Beira Junior, executive president of Ype, said: “This inauguration is part of our growth strategy and is an important milestone in the history of the company, which this year celebrates its 73rd year of operation. Maintaining our commitment to Brazil, this project reflects our desire to support the economic and social development of the region, which is considered strategic for wider growth in the country”.

The new facility will produce products such as laundry detergent, laundry softener and dishwashing liquid, and has reportedly generated 250 new direct jobs, with the potential to expand further.
