Brazilian food manufacturer Selmi has announced the expansion of a biscuit plant in Sumare, in the state Sao Paulo.
According to sources, the investment will enable a 40% increase in production capacity as well as allowing the company to modernise and optimise its processes. Specific investments include a new production line for “laminado”-style biscuits such as cream crackers and “maisena” biscuits and another for wafers. As a result, the plant’s production capacity will increase from 7,000 to more than 10,000 tonnes per month.
Marcelo Guimarães, Selmi commercial director, commented: “This expansion represents an essential step for Selmi. We significantly increased our production capacity and reaffirmed our commitment to quality and guaranteed delivery to our customers and consumers. We are investing in cutting-edge technology to ensure that Renata, Galo and Todeschini brand products continue to be synonymous with excellence”.
