Pandurata Alimentos, the Brazilian bakery firm, has announced an investment totalling $66 million to increase production of cakes and biscuits, as well as on the construction of a new distribution centre.
The firm, which owns the Bauducco, Visconti and Tommy brands, is set to make the invesmtent over the next two years. The stated goal is to expand production capacity of rusks and cakes at its Extrema plant in Minas Gerais and to install a new production line in Guarulhos Sao Paulo, aside from the opening of a new distribution centre in Rio Largo, Alagoas.
Pandurata holds 74% share of the rusks market and 37% share of the wafer market in Brazil and is also the country’s largest manufacturer of panettones and ‘colomba’ Easter cakes.
