Consumer goods major Nestle is planning to spend over $1.2 billion to bolster its capabilities in Brazil between 2023 and 2025, consolidating the country as Nestle’s third most important market globally.
In a statement, Nestle said money would be earmarked for the adoption of new technologies and manufacturing facilities, more sustainable practices, and product innovation. Specific investments include coffee, supplements, chocolate and biscuits, with a new KitKat production line planned at a facility in Cacapava (SP). Resources will be also spent on a new factory for the Purina petcare business in the south of the country.
Marcelo Melchior, CEO of Nestle Brasil, commented: “For 2024, we will continue our investments in productivity, innovation and operational sustainability, with strategic projects for new technologies and production lines […]. A further wave of investments will accelerate an ESG, innovation and digital transformation agenda to support the continued growth of Nestlé’s Brazilian operation”.
