US-based firm American Beverage Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harvest Hill Beverage Company, has announced the acquisition of Poppilu, a lemonade brand targeted to children.
Founded in 2017, Poppilu was at a first stage targeted to adults but its target shifted in 2020, when the need for a lemonade for kids was identified.
Poppilu is sold in pouches in three ‘bold and tangy’ lemonade flavours (Original Lemon, Blueberry and Peach lemonade flavours). All drinks are claimed to be ‘bold in flavour, not on sugar’, being free from refined sugar and containing only 7g of sugar per serving.
Ilene Bergenfeld, chief marketing officer of Harvest Hill Beverage Company said: “Poppilu makes a great addition to our existing portfolio and helps expand our strong foundation of kids’ beverages. We are especially excited that the product was crafted by a mom with kids in mind, which comes through in the bold taste and better-for-you benefits that will resonate with consumers”.
The kids’ brand is currently available nationwide at Walmart, Target and Thrive Market, and regional stores such as H.E.B, Stop & Shop and Giant Eagle.
