Mutandis, a Morocco based “brand accelerator” for the consumer goods industry, is set to acquire Season, described as the US brand leader in premium canned sardines, from current owner RAB Food.
Founded in 1921, Season brand tuna is sourced from a range of producers, but especially from firms based in Morocco. As well as sardines, the Season brand range includes kippers, anchovies, mackerel, and a caviar alternative. In 2020, net revenues increased to $54.6 million, with adjusted net income of $6.2 million.
The acquisition is also expected to grant Mutandis access to the main US retailers and grocery chains.
Mutandis is a consumer goods manufacturer with seven main brands in homecare, fruit juices, and canned sardine. It sells in its domestic market but also exports to other countries in Africa, as well as the Middle East, Europe, and the USA.
