Hershey, the US confectionery and snacks firm, has announced the investment of $135 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Augusta County, Virginia.
With 30 years of operations, the facility currently employees more than 1,000 workers, being the second largest company’s plant in the US.
According to sources, with the investment, the company will expand its facility by 90,000 square feet, creating 110 new jobs.
Last year, Hershey invested $104 million on the same production facility.
Jason Reiman, senior vice-president at The Hershey Company said: “We are proud to continue to invest and grow in an area that gives our employees a great place to live and work. Increasingly, Augusta County and Virginia are critical to our company’s growth and ability to deliver iconic and beloved products to consumers around the world”.
