Italian confectionery multinational Ferrero has partnered with SPI Logistic to open a new logistics and packaging centre in France.
The new facility is said to be equipped with the latest technology, allowing Ferrero to receive real-time information on the operation of its products and also allowing SPI Logistic control the operating parameters of the site. According to information, the facility will have around 10 semi-automated and automated lines to package Ferrero products such as Kinder, Tic-Tac, Ferrero Rocher and Nutella.
“This new logistics and packing centre allows us to increase efficiency in the delivery to our customers”, commented Mohamed Zariouhi, supply chain director of Ferrero France. “We are able to reduce the time between the production of our products and their shelving, to guarantee freshness and quality”. According to Mr Zahipuhi, this is the first step towards making the company more efficient and enabling it to grow over the coming years.
