Poulter Family Wines, the family-owned New Zealand wine and beverage business, has completed its acquisition of a selection of wine brands and assets from Constellation Brands.

According to the company, the transaction returns the Selaks brand alongside seven other brands to local ownership. The deal also incorporates a 10,000-tonne winery and vineyards in Hawke’s Bay. The other seven brands included in the acquisition are Little Harvest, State of Light, Superstate, The People’s Wine, Tipping Point, Wild Grace and Young & Co.

Poulter Family Wines operates as a vertically-integrated business, managing growing, making and selling operations. The company’s portfolio spans more than 100 SKUs sold throughout New Zealand and internationally.

The company stated that the transaction is a deliberate next step that builds on its purchase of Sacred Hill Winery in 2022 and its continued investments, including the recent expansion of its Auckland bottling facility.

Commenting on the acquisition, Poulter Family Wines head of manufacturing and sales Sam Poulter said: “The timing is right for our business, and it supports our plans to keep adding value, not just volume, in a way that stays here in New Zealand and helps our industry keep flourishing, both at home and globally”.
