UK: Pars Foods expands manufacturing capacity with second site

Pars Foods, the Scottish food manufacturer, has announced the opening of a second factory in Hillington, Glasgow, to meet increased demand for its Pie Sports brand. The new 10,000 sq ft (929 sq m) facility is intended to significantly boost the production capacity of the company’s puff pastry products.

The expansion follows a recent retail agreement with Aldi, which saw the Pie Sports range rolled out across 103 stores. Initially established during the pandemic as a home-delivery service for “football pies”, the brand has since expanded into major retail and professional sports catering. According to the company, the new site will allow for the fulfilment of several high-profile contracts secured in recent months.

Managing director Kieran Gartshore stated: “The opening of our second site is a significant milestone for Pars Foods. The demand for our Pie Sports puff pastry products has been strong, and this new facility will allow us to scale up production to meet the needs of our growing customer base”. The company indicated that the additional site would support its ongoing strategy to grow its presence in both the retail and foodservice sectors while maintaining traditional Scottish recipes.
