United Petfood, the Belgian pet food manufacturer, and Lider Petfood, the Turkish pet food producer, have announced the acquisition of a dry pet food production facility in Kırklareli, Turkey. The companies have purchased the site from Maya Family, a Turkish pet food business.
Located near Istanbul, the plant is intended to serve demand in both domestic and international markets. According to Lider Petfood, the facility’s equipment will allow for an immediate scaling of production.
United Petfood, which has an annual turnover of approximately €800 million ($864 million), stated the deal brings advanced manufacturing capabilities to the partnership. Lider Petfood currently exports a portfolio of brands, including Reflex and Spectrum, to more than 65 countries.
The investment follows a strategic partnership formed in February 2022, when United Petfood acquired a minority stake in Lider Petfood to accelerate its growth in the region.
