Nestle, the Swiss food and beverage giant, has announced an investment of 23 billion THB ($688 million) to construct a new Nescafe manufacturing facility in Thailand’s Samut Prakan province.

The high-tech factory, which is scheduled to begin operations in the latter part of 2028, will produce a broad range of Nescafe products, including soluble coffee, coffee mixes, and ready-to-drink formats. Equipped with advanced manufacturing technology and artificial intelligence (AI), the site will feature Nestle’s most advanced coffee extraction and state-of-the-art aroma preservation technologies, cutting-edge automation including robotic systems and an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) warehouse. The project is expected to create more than 520 local jobs.

Nestlé Indochina Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Nikhil Chand commented: “The new coffee factory will produce NESCAFÉ products using innovation and a wide range of locally sourced ingredients and raw materials, including coffee beans, sugar, and fresh milk from Thai farmers, further supporting local agriculture and economic development”.

The value of local ingredients and materials used at the factory is estimated at approximately THB 4.3 billion ($128.6 million) annually. The initiative builds on Nestlé’s presence in the country, where it invested more than THB 27.8 billion ($831.2 million) between 2018 and 2025 to expand manufacturing capabilities across key product categories, including ready-to-drink beverages and pet food.
